About me: I'm Daniela. Dani. DeeDee. It doesn't matter as long as you spell it right. But to be exact, my name's Daniela Isabella Ricci-Tam. DIR-T. Go figure. I'm a small-town girl transplanted to San Francisco, and loving it. I am suffering from chronic writer's block. I'm shy and awkward. That will change. I'm unphotogenic. That won't change. I'm up for trying new things. I said I wouldn't become a Facebook addict. Oh, how wrong I was. Not that I don't appreciate being able to talk to all you friends at other colleges! :) I am also extremely dependent on email. It's the most reliable way to get in touch with me. Viva Italia. I fear imperfection, being alone, and occasionally the night/dark. Daniela isn't a person, she's a machine. Daniela has no heart. Daniela hates Disney, sun, cute little animals, and babies. Especially babies. Daniela sold her inner child into slavery.

Staff Picks: Favorite Past Costumes

I think my lack of a non-weird childhood is starting to make itself manifest. ;l

Did Outtahere Sell Expired Food?

Ditto to Heather.

It’s kind of a disturbing thought that we’re consuming possibly expired food without knowing it. Let’s hope no one gets food poisoning.

The Foghorn’s Guide to the Top 5 Thrift Shops in the City

Heheh, I was a Goodwill/Salvation Army kid too. SF’s thrift shops are so much more diverse and interesting than the ones I had to rummage through back in Clovis. I’m loving the thrifting in this city.

Marquez is Next ASUSF President by Wide Margin

Great work with the prompt reporting, Hunter.

Melissa's Mixtape

Ah, but where’s the embedded music player?

Students Protest: Popular Adjunct Professor Not Rehired

My, my, my…..What happened to the apathy we all know and love? I’m shocked.

Props to USF students who care enough to make their voices heard.

ASUSF Budget Does Not Reflect Student Work

If I were “really in it for the money,” I think I’d choose a more profitable use of my time than working late nights in the Foghorn office.

USF Celebrates Jewish Passover, Raises Questions about Human Rights

I cowrote this story with Kate Greenspan and Hayden Boyd… Can we get the byline to reflect that? Give these journalists their credit, yo!

ASUSF President A Highly Contested Seat

Speaking of ASUSF presidential campaigning….

Check out this photo of a vandalized campaign poster in the Market Cafe. http://www.flickr.com/photos/danisabella/3445255407/

Students go out of their way to be extra-apathetic about elections, it seems!

Crossroads Receives Five Star Rating From Zagat

I applaud whoever decided to add the wine to this picture.

Style File: Depression Chic

You have a point there, Laura. Extravagance seems unwarranted in these times.

Geek Squad: The Playstation

This is a well-written article with engaging style. Props. :)

USF Should Maintain Religious Roots

I don’t believe Elston ever suggested that USF students would be safe from sexual assault if they were provided with birth control. The way I interpreted her article, she attempted to draw attention to the fact that, along with the issue of sexual assault, other sexual health/safety issues are not commonly addressed on campus and should be discussed.

Students Pledge Safety, Fun Over Break

I believe the deadline has been extended to April 10.

Confessions of a Front Desk Worker

I need to smile at front desk workers more often!

New Club Targets Sexism in Media Industry

Wish I could attend the club meetings, but I have a 6-9 class on Mondays…

Falling in Love with the Beautiful St. Vincent

Very well written! The descriptions almost take the reader there.

Sexual Harassment Rampant Among Students, Victims Fear Social Repercussions

I’ve heard stories about less-extreme but still unwelcome sexual attention and that type of thing, “creepy” sexual texts, etc..

I think one of the problems girls have with this, which I believe the writer may have mentioned, is that we aren’t exactly sure how far someone has to go for his actions to be “sexual harassment” and not just something you can blow off as annoying and immature.

Melissa's Mixtape

Aw, no music player this time.

ORL Implements New System, Puts Housing Selection Online

That does take some of the fun out of things…also, we’d only have ourselves to blame for those roommate-from-hell pairings. No more scapegoat.
