Big thanks for reading! The thought of having people from other countries reading my articles inflates my ego just a little too much, but I’ll try not to let it get to me. Majora’s Mask is definitely one of my favorite games of all time as well, and easily my favorite Zelda game (with the exception of Link’s Awakening, which has a special place in my heart).
I really would like to do an article of sorts on PC games, but I just don’t know if it could work out. I haven’t had a gaming-quality PC in probably more than half a decade, and all the stuff I played as a kid was just way too obscure. I definitely won’t rule out the possibility, but we’ll have to see. Maybe if I run out of material, haha. If you’ve got anymore suggestions, feel free to bust them out and I assure you that they won’t go unheard. Or unread.
God, who ISN’T holding a grudge against me for the N64 list? :P
I actually only got into the Soul Calibur series with Soul Calibur II, so I had to leave it off this list. I can’t even imagine the impact that Sega releasing a new console would have on the industry, but I highly doubt it’s actually going to happen. Methinks Sega is just planning to dabble in minor stuff.
Haha. See, I knew right off the bat that I was gonna get hit with a ton of criticism when I made this article for one simple reason - there’s TOO MANY GOOD N64 GAMES. Seriously. Try and make a list of your own favorite N64 games. If you’re anything like me, that list will probably be bigger than 10… and so you (or I, in this case) are forced to leave off some games. My list was about 18 strong, so I had to cut out a bunch of beloveds. The rest will go on as honorable mentions, but I think we can all agree that the N64 had way more than 10 great games.
I actually had a really long inner battle about where to stick Donkey Kong Country in my list or if I would at all - really. I even had it somewhat planned out what I was gonna say about it. But I came to terms with the fact that I love all those games just a little bit more, so I stuck it in as an honorable mention. That’s the problem with the SNES :P I’ll probably have a similar issue with N64…
Honestly, I’m more of a Nintendo guy than anything else, but the Genesis had some classics, so no hatin’, yo. As for sports games… eh… I’m the kind of geek that won’t play sports games unless they have a quirk to them. Like Blitz. Blitz was awesome.
I’m still working on next week’s article. It’s too tough, man. So many good games and only five spots…

Retro Nerdcore: Top Five NES Games
February 25th, 2009 at 8:57 pmPsh, have I seen the Angry Video Game Nerd? Of course :P I love his stuff. Not really big on the episodes when he makes it all cinematic, though.
You should totally check out the Happy Video Game Nerd if you haven’t. It’s like… the only good AVGN-inspired series.
