Wii is fun for about a month. After that it gets annoying because you can never just sit down and play game. Sometimes I just like to sit back and chill and not jump around in front of the television. I play video games when I’m relaxing. If I’m going to be doing all this jumping around, I might as well turn off the video games and go outside.
I can’t wait for the next series in Geek Squad. Jonny you are an international celebrity…no pressure…
A bike club sounds like a great idea. I heard another student blew the whistle on them and told public safety that they were at the involvement fair without being registered. That’s too bad. It looked like they were attracting a lot of people without causing a lot of trouble, but rules are rules I suppose. I hope they were able to get a lot of supporters before they were kicked out of the party, and that they Tarun follows through with SLE requirements. If the bike club does come to fruition, sign me up for that Golden Gate Bridge bike ride.
I am the author of this piece and I interviewed Father Privett. His comments about wishing to have Georgia O’Keefe paintings to sell and possibly selling Lone Mountain were said in humor.
The Georgia O’Keefe line in the story is preceded by “I have a moral and legal obligation to honor the wishes of the donors,” said Privett, who jokingly added…” etc.
His quote about Lone Mountain possibly being sold was in relation to him saying “never say never” when I asked him about ever selling the books. He used Lone Mountain as a sarcastic way to say that anything is possible.
I thought his tone was evident in the way the story was written, but apparently the mood of the interview was not adequately portrayed as the two quotes have been taken, from my view, out of context numerous times already. At no point in the interview was there a serious conversation about Lone Mountain being sold.
I appreciate the comments and references to the piece as well as the passion people have for this topic. Clearly this is a serious issue that must be resolved, but it is also imperative that people’s words are correctly understood.
Sweet the heyer score! Great topic. I find myself going back and forth on the issue whenever it’s brought up. I would still say no to payment I think, but maybe some reform through scholarships. The coaches? Waaaaaay too much money. No disrespect to the job they do, but it’s not professional sports.
I admit I don’t know a lot about tech, but I do know that the continual campus conversation among community members is a cornerstone of the USF culture. It is what makes our campus unique, and what attracts people to our school. I agree that our university website should reflect this. Well said, Michael.
Nice job with the story, Chelsea. A sign of a good writer is being able to take on an assignment outside of things you know best, and produce a well written, factual story about it. Well Done.
When I was like 8 years old, I used to have the Sega Channel for my Sega Genesis. I got every game as soon as it came out I was the happiest little kid. I consider myself some what of a Sega Connoisseur. Where are all the cool sports games on this list? I forgot what it was called, but there was a sweet soccer game. I agree, Sonic & CO. takes it.
