I definitely appreciate the new noise zones. I realize people meet to work in groups at the library, so it’s nice to have areas that are dedicated to that and other areas that restrict noise. I’m glad that Gleeson responded effectively to meet different student needs.
Why is the trial period ending right before finals week? I would think that students would really frequent Crossroads in between study sessions or cramming to finish papers during finals week.
Great article, Laura. This is an exciting (albeit sad) issue because USF students are actually taking a stand and working to defend something they believe.
Wow- USF student apathy illustrated. Ironic because it probably would have taken just a few seconds more to actually vote for the presidential position.
Another noisy activity that should be ban from the library- clipping one’s nails in the Atrium. Unfortunately I just witnessed this act of personal hygiene and I’m guessing the nails are still on the floor :/
Laura’s right- that would be a great way to balance our budget and boost scholarship funds. In all seriousness though, it would be cool to have a bar on campus. Other schools like Berkeley (Bear’s Lair) have bars. And it obviously doesn’t prevent students from being successful in their classes.
I agree with Michael. This was a great lecture- very interesting and up to date. I really enjoyed his information about the Obama campaign utilized technology like Facebook, You Tube and Twitter. This resonates with college students who are immersed in technology almost every hour of the day. On the other hand, learning that McCain barely uses email, a stale technology to many, was very discouraging.

Crossroads Receives Five Star Rating From Zagat
April 2nd, 2009 at 12:34 pmI guess the myth of the middle sauce isn’t true. I always try to prove/disprove it, but it tastes different every time- and that’s not a good thing.
Confessions of a Front Desk Worker
March 11th, 2009 at 3:15 pmGreat article Laura. Very well written. I too wish USF students were less self-involved and disrespectful.
